Well I have two more days with my housemates. I must say it’s been a pleasure to be with them. But I will also say there are times that I think to myself I’m glad I do not have a dog, let alone two of them. But that thought doesn’t last very long. It’s just a lot of responsibility and after three weeks, I’ve grown accustom to them.

Let me introduce you. Frankie, the older one, is the brown one up front. He’s a flighty little thing. Doesn’t like to be held or get to close. I think that is sort of changing a little. He’s gotten better about letting me hold him. Nani, the little lamb, is the white one in the back ground. She’s sort of clumsy, all legs. She loves to lick and is very loving.

My housemates

Between the two of them we have managed the last 3 weeks to co-exist with each other. It amazes me how dependent they really are on me. And talk about following you all over the place. I cannot go anywhere without the both of them there. I have had a couple of times that they have had do do butt and I almost panicked. But what a good way to give them a bath. I let em soak for a little while and then with a washcloth in hand, the mess does get cleaned up.

They love their treats. And I do think that when Mama comes home, they are going to be in for a shock. I’m a lot more lenient in that regard I’m sure, so I hope for Mama’s sake that I haven’t spoiled them to much. The walks have been great. These two take off like there is no tomorrow but by the time we are done, they have settled down and have gotten a tad bit tired.

I’m going to miss them I must say. It has amazed me how attached you can get to animals in such a short time. I have worried about them more than I would like to admit but it happens. They have been a pleasure. Tuesday will be a different day for me, as they will no longer be in my care, but then all will not be lost. I go back home and start walking my neighbors dog, Nalu.

Arf Arf Frankie and Nani

Hey it’s just my opinion

When I was growing up I remember my grandparents dog Hieny (Heinie however it was spelled). I think he was a German Shorthaired Pointer. Then my grandmother went to get my grandfather another dog, a Bloodhound, named Howie, that was meaner than all get out when you fed him. My mom let us get a dog that we found, after convincing her it was going to be a huge protective dog. His name was Bullet and he turned out to be a mutt that was short but faithful and ended up living with my grandparents. My Aunt and Uncle had a dog. It was some type of pointer also and for the life of me I cannot remember his name. They also had another dog after I had left and moved from Nevada. I’m showing my age here because I’ll be damned if I can remember his name also. My sister and sister-in-law have dogs…again age here because I don’t know there names either. But those were the dogs in my life, until now. And not only has one entered by there are 4. I never would have thought this would have happened but it did and I couldn’t be happier.

Drum roll please……..INTRODUCING:

Kepa. He is the old man of the group. I’ve known him for about 10 years now and he is just old and grumpy now. He likes to sleep a lot and when we go for walks he doesn’t like to go as far as before. Especially when his mom is around. It’s a battle to make him go half a block away. He might be old and grumpy, but he’s still a pleasure to be with.

<img src="http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/517/kepacopyua7.jpg" width="300" height="400" " alt="" title="essai" />

Nalu. He’s been around me for I would say the last 2 years. I think he’s about that old. Talk about spunk. This boy has got it. September of 2008 I started taking him for a walk every day. I had to have some reason to at least try and get some exercise and he certainly helps in that regard. He’s waiting for me every morning at the door and off we go. He seems to me that he could walk for hours and hours with all his energy and our walks have been enjoyable for us both.

<img src="http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/3116/naluuz9.jpg" width="300" height="400" " alt="" title="essai" />

Frankie and Nani. I don’t get to see these two very often but when I do they are great to be with. Frankie I have known for a couple of years and his sister Nani for about a year. Nani looks like a lamb and keeps Frankie on his toes. I tell you, the first time I was with them, Frankie wouldn’t let me come close to him. But over time the 3 of us have become great buds.

<img src="http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/8914/frankieandnanijh8.jpg" width="300" height="400" " alt="" title="essai" />

I get myself into trouble, but I suppose it’s like kids, you can spoil them and treat them a little different than their parents do. Sometimes I do this behind their backs, but mostly I do it just because they are there and take the scoldings from the owners. It’s fun and I adore all four of them. You all have brought the dog back into my life. Mahalo.
