Titanic:….. The story of Jack and Rose, their forbidden love, and subsequent catastrophe.
Clinton :… The story of Bill and Monica, their forbidden love, and subsequent catastrophe.

Titanic:…. Jack is a starving artist.
Clinton :…… Bill is a bullshit artist.

Titanic:…. In one scene, Jack enjoys a good cigar.
Clinton :…. Ditto for Bill.

Titanic:….. During the ordeal, Rose’s dress gets ruined.
Clinton :….. Ditto for Monica.

Titanic:….. Jack teaches Rose to spit.
Clinton :… Let’s not go there.

Titanic:….. Rose gets to keep her jewelry.
Clinton :…. Monica’ s forced to return her gifts.

Titanic:….. Rose remembers Jack for the rest of her life.
Clinton :….. Clinton doesn’t remember Jack.

Titanic:….. Rose goes down on a vessel full of seamen.
Clinton :….. Monica.. ooh, let’s not go there, either.

Titanic:….. Jack surrenders to an icy death.
Clinton :….. Bill goes home to Hillary – basically the same thing

I tried doing this. I don’t like writing it or reading it. Just doesn’t make any sense too me. The rocks in my brain just don’t register with poetry.

The way I look at it we all have something that we just can’t get into. I know that I could try harder but I just don’t enjoy it. Some of you don’t like TV and movies. Hey, that’s cool. I so admire those of you that write, read and understand it. It just isn’t for me.

So if I don’t comment on your poetry posts that’s why.

This week’s word is Trip

Well as many of you might or might not know, last week I just got back from a trip to the mainland. It was one of the longer trips that I have stayed because of a death in the family but it was well worth it just to be with my entire family.

So when we got the word for this week I thought boy, there sure are a lot of different ways to use trip. You can trip out. You can go on a drug induced trip. You can go on a trip such as in a vacation. All sorts of different ways. Then I just so happen to get an email with the video below from YouTube. I thought it extremely funny just listening to the guys on the phone trip out with the calls. Enjoy.

I bring them all up because I have to thank them all.

Quilly was a great help to me early in the day with my blog and getting to format pictures among text. We had a good time and I did learn a thing or two. Thanks Quilly. But I did warn you prior to you pulling out the Nikon that I’m not photogenic and you shouldn’t have bothered…so you took the camera not working into your own hands trying to take a photo of moi. Thanks so much for the visit.

Jientje had looked at my Flickr photos and suggested that I post one that she thought was real good. Well here we go again with me and photos. I’m not good at taking them or resizing them to fit into a post. So Jientje took the bull by the horns, so to speak, and I sent her the picture and within minutes she had it back to me. You will see the post later in the week. Thanks so much for all your help my Belgian Bombshell. Keep in mind it was now after midnight and I had just read Quilly’s blog about the vampire and doing this picture at the same time. I appreciate the help you gave me.

Dr. John helped me in a most unusual way. His blog post was up about Palm Sunday. Again, it’s around midnight or thereafter so I read it and commented. Today while driving the bus I see a lot of people carrying palm fronds around. I couldn’t figure it out. Then about half way through my day I realized it was Palm Sunday. I immediately thought of what I had read in Dr. John’s site. In my entire life I never knew what Palm Sunday was about until I read his post. I was glad that I had read it earlier that morning and finally new and understood what was going on today. So I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Anyway, Mahalo to all three of you for giving me insite to new things and helping me out. I certainly appreciate it and being a vampire isn’t all that bad. Just beware when I come a calling.

A 5-year-old boy went to visit his grandmother one day. Playing with his toys in her bedroom while grandma was dusting, he looked up and said, ‘Grandma, how come you don’t have a boyfriend now that Grandpa went to heaven?’

Grandma replied, ‘Honey, my TV is my boyfriend. I can sit in my bedroom and watch it all day long. The religious programs make me feel good and the comedies make me laugh. I’m happy with my TV as my boyfriend.’

Grandma turned on the TV, and the reception was terrible. She started adjusting the knobs, trying to get the picture in focus. Frustrated, she started hitting the backside of the TV hoping to fix the problem.

The little boy heard the doorbell ring, so he hurried to open the door and there stood Grandma’s minister. The minister said, ‘Hello son, is your Grandma home?’

The little boy replied, ‘Yeah, she’s in the bedroom bangin’ her boyfriend.’

The minister fainted.

The doctor was a very meticulous character. Every time he entered the operating room all the tools of his craft had to be in a certain place, in a certain order and in a certain pattern. He had been like this since his graduation from George Washington School of Medicine. There was no explanation as to why he insisted on this and everyone on the surgical team knew, that if they weren’t he would be in such a state of apoplexy it would make Attila the Hun look tame.

Well on this very day, a brigadier general was on the table. He dove into the shallow end of the pool, which was a perfect parallelogram, on a bet with a fellow officer and it didn’t go well. They had fifty dollars riding because of his greed. You see there was a slumber party that night for the children and everyone, young and old, had gathered around the pool to watch the event and all present saw the horrific accident. When he dove into the pool it wasn’t as smooth as a hummingbird flies, but more like splashing mustard quickly on a hot dog and bun. There was nothing casual about this dive.

Mini Challenge:

Looking down at the poor slob on the table, the doctor thought of the last words he heard from his wife before leaving to work this fine day. She told him

“Honey, Edna and I were driving down Mount Olympus Blvd. You know the one surrounded by all the birch trees? Well she was reading an article to me from the newspaper that included portraits of the arsonist that is on the loose and all of a sudden BANG. The car backfired or something. So we stopped the car and got out. Something was not in place, not in order, not in it’s pattern. We couldn’t find what was wrong and then Edna continued that car needs a needs a new muffler I’m sure of it. So would you please stop by Midas sometime today and have that checked?”

How could he have forgotten to check his tools?

Mega Challenge:

Lifting his head and taking his eyes of the contorted sole, he looked over to the nurse, who’s eyelids were now fluttering with worry at the speed that a hummingbird flies and said

“Stella. Who put out tools on the parallelogram tray?”

Stella, now feeling like she had just been put on the hot seat that an arsonist lit on fire, struggled for a casual answer. Her voice crackling as she spoke and sounding like that car needs a new muffler said,

“Why doc… doc.. doctor, it … it …. was … was … me.”

She knew her stammering wouldn’t cut the mustard with him but with all the portraits quickly running around in her head of prior misplacement of the tools and fear of his apoplexy, the words just didn’t flow out correctly. And to make matters worse, her daughter was attending the slumber party hosted by the doctor and his wife. Had seen the whole event happen in the shallow end of the pool and ran off to hide behind the birch trees next to the pool when it did. She didn’t want her greed to get the best of her, but all she wanted to do was be home with her husband to help console her poor daughter.

The doctor smiling under his mask calmly said

“Stella. It’s as if you have climbed Mount Olympus and obtained your calling. The tools are all in a certain place, in a certain order and in a certain pattern. Now, let’s proceed on the brigadier general.”

Stella, being relieved, and smiling as well, responded proudly

“Yes doctor.”

Friday's Fave Five

1. Saturday I helped my neighbor, Dee, put a new screen door up. It took us a while as I’m not very mechanically inclined or building inclined, but we got it done early evening and had a couple of glasses of wine to celebrate. It’s still holding up as of today…YEAH!!!
2. Sunday after work I went to my friend, Lisa’s house. We watched the womens college basketball game (Oklahoma vs Pitt). It was a good game. She had made Chuk and it was great. I always enjoy my time with her. Good luck also today, April 2, 2009, with your interview for the Lieutenant’s position at HPD. I know you will do well.
3. Monday…I finished my taxes and everyone else who I do every year. I’m so glad that chore is done.
4. Wednesday I had my company physical and passed with flying colors. Good to go for another two years.
5. Thursday, my eyes are good to go now also. I had my doctor’s visit. The last time, and I’m ashamed to admit this, was 7 years ago when he did my lasik surgery on my eyes. They’ve been great ever since. But the older I get I can’t see close up without glasses or something. And I was stunned to find out, which I’m trying, there are bi-focal contacts. WOOT…I can still hide my age.

So that was my week and my favorite things. Have a great Friday and rest of the weekend.
