i think it would be fun to see some of the judges dance. i cant imagine what a drama queen mia would be… it would be a riot i am sure. and i hadnt a clue that violet and (i think her name is) caroline may not come back on PP…. that would just be a sacrilege… i love them both and think the show would be such a bummer without either of them…
Hmmmm I remember that they brought that up right around the last episode of PP. Just that nothing was set in stone
I had a link to a video of the season 4 finale. Nigel choreographed a tap routine for a dance troupe of kids, and he also danced with them. Mary Murphy did dance on the show once…I think it was season 2…with ballroom dance Dmitry Chaplin.
Nigel’s dance was so well received last season that I’ve heard that some of the judges could be asked to perform on future results shows.
I’d definitely vote for that!
Would have been great to see
well i felt sorry for phillip dancing with his pants ripped, but they did pretty well…. i thought nigel was sort of on the peck last night. he seemed to be nit-picking to me on lots of the dances. i thought the two who did the tango and the 2 who did the dance where he wakes her up and they dance was just beautiful. nigel thought the guy dancing in his bare feet was bad. i guess he didnt follow the story and know it was a dream… the butt dance was the cutest of the evening and mia did such a good job with the choreography…. that 3rd judge, toni brazil, is an odd duck to say the least but i have heard of her for years and i think she really knows her stuff….. such a good show. i think phillip should be shaking in his boots tonight and so should his partner….
I think it’s Toni Basil ma…LOL They got right up in Philips ass also with those torn pants. I don’t know why they made such a big deal of it LOL.
I almost died when I saw Toni Basil..Hey Mickey…is all I could think of…she still looks good.
Mary was rather subdued last night I thought. It was nice not to hear her going off so much and I enjoyed her better. I will say, that I do think she is growing on me and I do look forward to her more each week…but Mary, oh Mary…please behave like you did last night. It’s so nice to see you talk and not scream so much.
Well my favs of course Jeanette and Brandon were awesome. Trav I think you are so right about Jeanette…she always looks like she is going to be average and comes out and just amazes me. I loved the number.
Randi and Evan were my favorite dance last night. I loved it and now see the quirky side of Mia. That dance was so awesome and they just moved through it like it was nothing. I really enjoyed it.
Caitlin and Jason were awesome too. Caitlin is my second favorite woman and she did seem more confident last night, which I’m glad. They did a great job and I guess I’m just not trained enough in dance but Jason looked okay to me. But that’s why you have the pros.
I liked Melissa and Ade also. They seem to compliment each other so well and that dance was just awesome.
The other 4 were okay. I didn’t like Jeanine and Phillip all that much. There dance was just odd and Karla and Jonathan were not good either. Well they weren’t as good as last week. I was sorta shocked that Kayla and Kupono got the Hot Tamale Train (thank you Mary for keeping it a calm train as well). It didn’t seem all that good to me. I tell you it amazes me what those judges see. I didn’t even notice how out of sync they were until the replay…and you could definitely see it.
My question of the day is this. I know they made a big deal out of the waltz being danced in barefeet, but I have noticed that a lot of these dances are in barefeet. Why do they allow that? on DWTS they almost always have shoes on so I don’t get it. Especially with the more formal dances like the Waltz etc.
Whatever the outcome these kids are awesome and I’m very much enjoying this show. The talent is beyond my comprehension on how they get it done

About the bare feet in the V Waltz … Speaking from personal experience, it’s hard to dance ballroom in bare feet. That’s probably one of the reasons that they don’t do it on DWTS. They have enough problems with injuries as it is. But here we have many dancers who are used to dancing in their bare feet, and the muscles in their feet and ankles are a lot stronger than the average person coming off the street. Not to mention that they probably have calluses in all the right places. So, for those reasons alone, it’s more of an option on SYTYCD than is was on DWTS.
The other thing is that this show is more artistic and cutting edge in all of its routines. And this particular V Waltz was more interpretive. It was more like they were dancing to a song that happened to be a V Waltz than doing a V Waltz to that song. To me that’s what made it a great performance. It went beyond the style, and yet, as a ballroom dancer, I would still classify it a V Waltz … if that makes any sense. (My favorite dance of the night if you hadn’t guessed.)

Thank you so much for the great explanation. Makes sense. I think the two that got the boot were the right ones I must say. This is going to get hard especially when they have to split up. I’m so into Jeanette and Brandon as a couple I’m not goign to like it very much when they separate
i agree that the two that went deserved to go. the rest are so good and its going to get harder and harder to decide which one should go…. of course you never know how a dancer is going to do… one week they can be stellar and the next really lame… so you have to take each dance so individually. the waltz was also my favorite with the one mia choreographed right behind it (pardon the pun)…. such a good show always. i love cat deely… some of the garbs she gets on are outrageous. she is so nice to all those kids. love her.
Yeah that’s true about them being up one week and crappy the next. That cat has got legs for days…Trav just love’s them and gets mad when they make her wear pants LOL. I agree with him I must say…she’s like Tina Turner in that department
