Okay Trav, I took the bait and watched this show. I even had to record it on my DVR. It’s an odd show if you ask me. Now like American Idol, I don’t get into the show very much until they get rid of all the auditions and are in Hollywood and on this show I take it Vegas. So I’ll pay more attention to it then. That’s just the way I am. A few things I noticed. The judges are the meanest judges I’ve ever seen in my life. And that chick Mary is the loudest person I have ever heard. And that includes me. She’s annoying and I’m going to have to buck up so I don’t reach through the TV and bitch slap her. I take it the third judge is always different every year. That Mary and Nigel are the regulars? Another thing I don’t get, is the guy at the end, was on the show last year or auditioned for it and didn’t make it? And this year all of a sudden it moves Mary to tears and he moves on to Vegas? I don’t get it. But this is my first time ever watching it. Those dancers sure do odd things. I’m not very use to what they do, because I”m so use to DWTS. I’m going to give this a whirl. Okay… not sure I get this show. Mary is not funny… shes ANNOYING. I reached for my remote control when the freak lady started dancing. DISTURBING! Yeah… what courage and determination she has… yada yada yada. ICK!
I continued to watch because it was really just auditions. BTW I hate AI auditions too. But I watched on. Then… fell asleep. About 2/3rds of the way thru the show. Its really not very entertaining. I will probably give it one more go. After auditions. But I am pretty sure this show is a big yawner!
I tend to agree with you Dean. We shall just have to wait and see and you are right about Mary. I think, as Travis commented on his blog, she’s an acquired taste ::) Have a great Memorial Day Weekend

I wouldn’t judge it by the early audition episodes. It’s set up just like American Idol (probably because it has the same producer, good ol’ Nigel) where they have the public humiliation rounds, which is a bit odd (as well as heart-breaking for me, which is why I can’t watch it). But once they get to the top 20 (10 girls/10 boys), I think that it’s greatness far surpasses Dancing with the Stars. All these different styles of choreography, and the partners have to work together in order to succeed. It makes for some really great dancing.
I’m not overly fond of Mary. She’s just there to provide a little drama. lol
I think you are right. My mom says the same thing about the show and I never watch AI until they are in Hollywood LOL. I can’t stand those idiots that get up there and think they are already proven stars and I can sing better than them, even when I’m not in the shower. Travis says Mary is an acquired taste…Well right now I don’t see me acquiring a taste for her anytime soon
I think the other thing I dont like about this show… and dancing with the stars is…. I CANT DANCE!

you guys just keep your shirts on til they get down to the nitty-gritty… you will really like it once they get the top 10 or however many. they just get better and better every week and its so great to watch them improve… and these judges are TOTALLY different than the AI judges. i think they give better advice and they dont seem to make up their minds about who is going to win like the AI judges do.
Well they are more critical I know that for sure. I’m going to hang in there with this…It’s not any where near my fav as of yet
