I think it’s about time that I do something about my Aunt and Uncle. Kippie, my Aunt, is my mom’s sister and her husband, Bob, of course is my Uncle. They have been a huge part of my life, especially when I was growing up.
I remember plenty of great times with the both of them. They owned a boat and almost every weekend we would go out to Lahaton Lake and camp and go water skiing. It was a blast. The boat I remember had a brown bottom and and orange top. My Uncle would make sure that all of us got to ski not only once but as many times as we wanted. We would go hunting and come back to their house and my Aunt would have a great barbecue for us. My Mom and Aunt every birthday would pass this hat back and forth between each other and every time add something new onto it. It was a riot.
During this visit, for my Grandmother’s passing, my Aunt and Uncle were a great comfort to not only their side of the family but to everyone that came around. It’s great to see my Mom and Aunt together and supporting each other.
My Uncle this Monday had knee surgery and just came home today.

I don’t envy him having to go through this but he has and will be much better off afterwards.
Uncle Bob just came home and Julie and Kippie were there to help him along.
Julie my cousin in the picture above was up from California and a great deal of help to her mom. It was great being with them and will be forever grateful for them being the best Aunt and Uncle one could want.

Wonderful memories! I think as we get older we look back more and take comfort in those times spent with family and friends.

Knee surgery – oooh, been there. But, it is great after the therapy is over.
I so agree with you about us aging and looking back and that’s good news about the long run with knee surgery.
Thank you so much for all the nice things you said about us. It is sooo easy to be a good aunt and uncle when you have nephews and a niece as nice as you are.. We love every minute we get to spend with you Thom.. we truly love you with all our hearts.. we are the lucky ones..

thanks thom..i hoped i helped some..its been a stressful 10 days on all of us! I love this family sooo immensely. We are always there for each other..doesnt get better than that..blessing to see everyone, especially my kids, ty and dawn, indy, kianna and tyty..they mean sooo much to me..never thought Id want to be a grandma!! LOL

I am sooo glad my mom and your mom have each other…they will need all each others love and support right now..dont know 2 that will give it more to each other. Family is what its all about…they’ll help each other thru these rough times..they are strong women..i love them both sooo much…they are sooo funny when they are together! “the little country schoolhouse…” etc..LOLOL take care and good luck on your flight back to the islands..wish i could come visit you over threre..want to see it BAAADDD!!!!
