In January of this year Quilly did a post in response to Dr. John. I bit and she then interviewed me. The very first question was:
1.) What is the best and the worst thing about driving public transit?
Today I had an encounter with two elderly passengers that show you what is the best:
The husband and wife were entering the bus. He of course being the gentleman let his wife enter first. As he is paying his fare he says:
“Two for the young lady and One for me,” inserting his money and showing his Medicare card.
I respond: “Such a gentleman to refer to your wife as a young lady.”
Him: “She is and she loves it.”
A few stops later, arriving at Ala Moana Center, they come to the front and he politely asks for two transfers. She being right there I say, while giving them the transfers:
“So you are the young lady.”
She just giggles and smiles a smile from ear to ear.
It made my day.
Hey, it’s just my opinion.

Thom ~ This is what makes driving buses enjoyable, when we interact with our passengers in a positive way. One of these days I’ll share some of my stories.
Yea every once in a while we get lucky
