DEVON’S RIDE
Oscar, swimming around in a stream, whose bottom glistened from the stones, all of which were isangelous to each other, looked up and spotted the four eyes from the volgivagant grasshoppers staring down upon him. Knowing that he, as well as the two perspicacious creatures, had to keep an eye out for the cynicocratical birds of prey, Oscar mused what fracas they were going to cause on this beautiful day.
“Hmmph.” Devon and Gracie. Something was odd. Usually Gracie is always very causitry with Devon, using her womanly wiles to tease the poor boy, and stays well away from the cool blue water. But on this day, both of them were there. Close. Needing something. Wanting something. It wasn’t their normal behavior. Devon, usually is very opprobrious to Oscar, putting on a “He Man” show for Gracie, who enjoys it immensely. But today he could spot their inquisitive nature.
“Yo, Oscar” Devon chirped.
“What do ya want?” Oscar replied in a quondam voice, so stern it reminded him of his earlier years.
“You the best trout this stream got, Oscar, and me and Gracie wanna explore the other side. I see something very shiney, like, ummm, what do you call it? A coin or something.”
Oscar knew what was coming and if this boy wanted to pretend that he was like man and find his pot of gold, well then who was he to say no to the numismatics of this fool. Besides, then he could enjoy apanthropinization in the cool stream and the paucity of his fellow swimmers.
“So I was hoping,” Devon continued, “me and Gracie could hitch a ride on your back and you could swim us over there?” he asked. “It’s way to far for us to jump and with those damn birds of prey. Well you could get us there fast and safe.” ”And Oscar, you the best.”
“Yea, yea yea,” he retored. “Get on and be quick.” Oscar thinking that when this is done, it will be music to his ears, fantasizing of hearing the zither playing in the background. Its beautiful tones singing out it’s precious notes. To be rid of the two fools he can enjoy the serenity of his abode, once again.
The two quickly hopped on and Oscar gently started to swim to the other side of the stream, being careful to do no harm, because deep down inside, he did enjoy them and the constant harassing Devon fed the old man. Reaching the other side, Oscar heard a huge gasp as the two jumped off his back. Looking up, he saw the cause.
Oh the life of the bird of prey.

Oy! Hope those two are verrrry fast! I am loving this little story!
It was nice to print all the words and their meanings.
I enjoyed your story and I why there was a gasp.
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear — have they survived the stream only to jump into the mouth of a bird?
AND, what am I supposed to do if someone post their story before the exact, appointed stroke of the clock? Take their blogs away? Lock up their keyboards? As to the time my blog post went up — it was already midnight or beyond in the rest of the world. Now, I could never do that with Punny Monday because it is a contest, but what difference does a couple of hours make to a story?
Thank you muchly. Next weeks is already ready
Your story puts me in mind of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. I wonder what the lesson will be.
Only time will tell.
Doesn't…I just had to keep you on your P & Q's
I don't think they have learned it just yet Nessa. Let's hope they do.
Well, that was fun! I hope they survive those pesky birds.
Only time will tell Raven
this was fun to read, and the end of this episode is a teaser.
i don't think i'll be using the 'old' words in the new challenge… provided i can think of something to post in the first place.

Thank you. Good guess my friend. I think you are on the right track. As for the words I'm debating on how to keep using them. Maybe mix them up a little. We shall see
Them's more words than my poor brain can handle. One great job but I have just one nit pickin question. Is casuistry something you can be or is it a technique you can use.
So should you say I am casuistry with Bob or I use casuistry when talking to Bob. Go ahead swat the nit.
Why do I doubt that it is more than you can handle, in that your story, with next weeks word's were posted this morning (my time) LOL You Jester you. Anyhow, I dunno about causitry. I think I have enterchanged it with my stories. Good question – perhaps Quilly will chime in on this one.
Well, if casuistry is a way of thinking, I was thinking then it couldn't possibly be something one could be — and then the word crazy occurred to me so I can decisively say, I have no flippin' idea!
Way to go Dr. John. Ya stumped Quilly. Score 1 for the men!
No, no,no it can't end yet!
I'm enthralled with this story Thom and looking forward to the next episode.
I just read you have next week's ready – a whole week to go. (sigh)
I don't think it is going to Carletta…for a long while at least. Yes I do. I have to add in the new words somehow but it's pau.
