I’m going to get this right this week so here we go. Even though this is from the post Three Word Thursday #5 (simply because our illustrious leader of this mellifluous word orgy didn’t give the first post a title number) this is actually for Three Word Thursday #6. And I can just imagine those key’s smoking with some opprobrious comeback on that statement. So without further ado I present this weeks continuation of Devon in participation with Quilly’s Three Word Thursday.

DEVON FINDS A GLOW
Gracie took a huge jump and Devon followed in quondam fashion and he knew immediately where the little vixen was headed. She couldn’t fool him with her casuistry behavior. He knew better. He was too perspicacious not to know, even though the cynicocratical birds of prey deemed them the most volgivagant of all species living in this beautiful paradise. He, after all was the one that had to tell her that “he” wanted to cross the stream and see what was causing the glow, like that of man’s numismatics.
“Gracie,” he said sternly. “I’m the one that wanted to come over here, see this glow and explore. And you went first” he snorted.
“Well Devon, my heart was racing after that attack” she said in a very opprobrious tone. “And the paucity of just you and me…Well I was frightened and just wanted to get out of there.” He understood and smiled at the her in a very mellifluous manner.
“Gracie you so smart to make that decision and I’m glad you did.” He loved her so!
The two, as if remembering the instructions from an anopisthograph simultaneously turned their heads and, as if being one, began to cautiously make their way toward the glow. The stench was hitonious and they both had a sternutation that echoed for miles. Devon could not recall such a teterrimous odor in his entire life. It was if they were in another world. An apanthropinization from the reality. And nearing the glow, between the isangelous rocks, stood the source of the glow. A Lightning Bug. Devon had never seen one of these creatures in all his life. He was fascinated.
“Gracie, stay back” he ordered.
“Yo, what are you and what is that smell?”
“Why I’m a Lightning Bug and that smell is the odor from my wings rubbing together to attract a Lady Lightning Bug.” he said proudly. Continuing. “And if you listen very carefully, there is a slight musical tone being emitted also, like that of a zither.” “And…”
Boy this dude can talk, Devon thought.
“…the best part of all is it makes us glow so we are easier to spot. Even in the daylight. The Lady Lightning Bugs, well, they can respond to all of this so quickly, that it creates a huge fracas with us men folk.”
“I’m gonna be sick!” Gracie said
“Well it don’t work on any one but the Lady Lightning Bugs.” he said.
‘Hmmmph…well it just stinks” she carped as any zoilist would and with that she turned to Devon.
“Let’s roll Devon.”
As Devon’s curiosity continued to grow he watched in utter delight the fancy dance the Lightning Bug was performing and was getting used to the stench.
“How long it take the Lady Lightning Bugs to get here?” he quizzed, looking over at Gracie and shaking his head, indicating they were staying put.
“Well usually not long but today that bird of prey has been circling above and I think they are scared to come out” he replied. “My friend over yonder even ‘fraid to come and chat with me. She usually keeps me company while I wait for the Lady Lightning Bugs” the gab fest creature continued.
Looking around Devon saw the Lightning Bug’s friend peek her head through the security of the silk braids.
Oh the life of a spider.

[...] Thom [...]
Tasty grasshoppers better run away from the spider!
You write a fine story, Thom. I’m kind of getting attached to Devon, but the jury is still out on his girlfriend.
Why thank you Quilly. Much appreciated. You mean you don’t like his slutty girlfriend?
You not only use the three words but all the others to write a fine story. I like the lightning bugs.
Thank you Bettygram…I hope the Lightning Bugs hang around
Wow! All the words and todays words used properly. I think we are going to look forward each week just to see how long you can continue this.
I love the story.
Mahalo Dr. John. I don’t know how far this is going to go. I’m gonna try something with the Wordzzle this week YIKES!!!
At last a story filled with edibles. You know dragons are no longer allowed to eat people thanks to all those complaining zoilists.
But your story has fish and bugs, I will eat bugs but they often cause me to leave out a great sternutation which tends to burn up my precious old anopisthographs.
Now trout on the other hand and birds just let me at them.
I’m sorry I’m supposed to be commenting on your story which is a very tasty one. I mean a well written one.
Ahhhh well please be kind to Oscar. I’ll take tasty as well as well written
Devon certainly has interesting adventures. Nothing as wonderful as a curious mind.
Mahalo Raven. I keep wondering how many more adventrues the boy is going to have. Gracie might just be a distraction
Oh wow, YOU can WRITE!! I enjoyed this!
Can’t believe you like my hitonious drivel!
*Bows head in shame*
Oh I sure do Jientje. I’m new to this writing and you can certainly tell. I look forward to reading more and getting to know you better. Mahalo for your kind words.
Well, I love these little bugs… but I would be leary of the spider! EVEN if I were a lightening bug… But I got a smile picturing the isangelous rocks with little halos above them!
I think you will be surprised at Samantha
Thanks for your kind words. I do appreciate bringing a smile upon anyone’s face
ah, thom, your stories are getting better and better. oyu gotta love devon and his adventures!
Thanks. It’s from being around all you excellent writers. I get ideas and it’s bound to rub off somehow
THOM!
You commented to Jientje that you were new to this writing -I have to say one would never know you hadn’t done this all your life.
I’m loving every chapter in this story.
I have to tell you my favorite line – ‘peak his head through the security of the silk braids.’ What wonderful imagery!
Mahalo so much Carletta. And believe me I haven’t done writing until this blog. I look at you, Alice, Betty, Dr. John, Juliana, Quilly, Nessa to name a few and am awed by what I read. But you know what I just do what I do, right or wrong because I enjoy it. And I am so glad you pointed out that sentence. Big mistake in the sex on that as my next chapter he is a she LOL. So I went back and had to correct it. But sssshhhhhh we wont tell anyone!
Whoof, Thom. Woofenderful story, but where’s the dogs? All you gots iz bugs… YUCK! They’re not even good to play woof!!
Reba my girl…they are going to show up…I just need to figure out when. Woof!
BARK!! Two paws up, Thom.
Thank you…or should I say arf arf !!
Hi Thom. I actually came by yesterday and read, then got pulled away, so now I’m back to tell you how much I enjoyed your story this week. Your writing is definitely improving with each installment. I’m really liking your little bugs, and I don’t like bugs, haha.
Mahalo Alice. To be honest with you I never knew there would be so many bugs in this. But every week they just appear. And with all of you to be able to follow it helps me a great deal
I just learned my first Hawaiian word! I thought mahalo maybe mean hello or something, but looked it up on Dictionary.com and found it’s ‘thank you’. I don’t know how to say “you’re most welcome” in Hawaiian, so English will have to do, lol. Are you saying that all this writing it driving you buggy? Hahaha. I think I’ll have to think twice before stepping on any bugs in the future. Maybe they have names and families, friends… maybe some one is even writing a story about them. To have it end with someone stepping on them…. well, now that I think of it, if it’s a spider I’ll still stomp it, given the opportunity.
)
Aloha means hello and goodbye and Mahalo means thank you. Isn’t it great that we never stop learning. Just wait until you meet Samantha…you might think differently
Oh ya, Aloha, forgot about that one. So Mahalo is my second Hawaiian word, haha. I love learning and plan to continue all the days of my life. Now… you have me curious. Who is Samantha?
Well..here’s a couple more luau and lua = party and bathroom. Samantha is my up and coming spider
