Damn Our Legislature

From a blog I follow, Equality Hawaii House Bill 444 failed today.

What disturbs me most is the description of the gallery during the session. I cannot believe that people behave like that. I am a firm believer in equal rights for all, regardless of race, creed, color and the list goes on and on. And for people to show such hatred shows a total like of understanding and human compassion. To think they dressed in red shirts in supposed solidarity is disgusting.

I really don’t care what any body’s position is on Heterosexuality, Homosexuality, Bisexuality, etc. What people do in the privacy of their own home is their business. But when you start denying rights to all human beings that is just plain ass wrong. All people are created equal and deserve the best that life can offer.

You can visit the above site or Capsun’s Corner for more on HB444. It is a sad day in Hawai’i but it is a learning process and all the citizens of this state can hope for is a brighter and better future for our kids and not the ignorance that was shown today.

Hey, it’s just my opinion

I haven’t read Capsun’s post. Must go see.

Ah! I found what I was looking for at Equity Hawaii. I thought you were saying the legislators had dressed in red. I am so relieved that it was the crowd of onlookers — who may call themselves Christian but obviously have no idea what being Christ-like means.

Yes, hate is a horrible and ugly thing. The people that advance hate do so at the peril of their own souls — no matter whose name they do it in, or what they are trying to quell.

I have never understood the opponents of same sex unions and I never will. As long as we are all free to chose our own life-style, why do we need to regulate someone else’s?

I guess I should have been clearer on the post who dressed in red. Sorry about that. I agree with you Quilly but it’s just not same sex that pisses me off it’s how we treat everyone and all their rights. You know I’m not a religious person I just don’t understand why everyone can’t have all rights. This is just one example I guess that is current and pisses me off. It’s so like the racial discrimination, or slavery. I wish we could get an answer and pound it into the lawmakers head

it’s is so difficult for me to wrap my head around how and why these people think the way they do

how does someone else having the same rights as they do take anything away from them!!
it actually adds to the quality of all our lives
